Categories of individual membership

An individual with a qualification and/or experience in the field of energy including but not limited to engineering, architectural, business, economics and law. Registered or certified professionals such as engineers, architects, energy managers, energy auditors, measurement and verification professionals, energy economists, renewable energy experts or equivalent can be admitted as full members.  Persons who are qualified by experience or related qualifications may petition in writing for full membership consideration.

An individual 30 years of age or under with an engineering, architectural, business or law degree, or a registered professional engineer or architect.

An individual retired full-time who is no longer involved in any career activity. 

A person interested in energy and generally the objectives of EEAU who does not meet the criteria to be a full member

A person whose company (they work for on a full-time basis) is an EEAU Corporate Member. Such individuals receive a special membership discount.

An individual who is a full-time matriculated student (studying for the whole of each normal working week rather than for part of it) and below 25 years. Employee studying does not qualify.

Open to all individuals, and includes lifetime subscriptions to all divisions.

NOTE: 

  • Entrance (registration) fees are payable by a new member upon entry into the association. This is therefore a one-time payment. 
  • Annual subscription is payable after one year of admission and every subsequent year. This is a recurrent payment that maintains membership to the association.

EEAU is the official chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) in Uganda and we are dedicated to serving members and other industry professionals who are working to promote energy efficiency to save energy, reduce GHGs, improve performance and reliability, and help reach global goals for net-zero

AEE’s courses and certifications certify your subject matter expertise for climbing the ladder while allowing lateral career moves for future flexibility. EEAU Members receive the trainings and certifications at discounted rates owing to our status as AEE training partners in Uganda in collaboration with Institute of Energy Professionals Africa (IEPA)

EEAU has acquired energy monitoring and measurement equipment including power quality analysers (PQA), energy loggers, ultrasonic leak detectors, ultrasonic flow meters, thermographic imagers, tachometers, lux meters, flue gas analysers, infrared thermometers, clamp meters, moisture meters, RH & Temperature meters etc. These equipments are available to EEAU members for hire on a 50% discount.

As a member, you can network, connect with, and gain access to unique interest groups of industry professionals locally and internationally. These individuals are often deeply experienced or leaders in their field. EEAU has established the following interest groups that a member can be part of; council on women and environment leadership (CWEEL), Students Chapters and ESCO working group.

EEAU presents an annual energy efficiency conference in Uganda among other events. EEAU events enable our members to learn about the latest developments from business, industry and government sectors, while networking with their peers. Attendees also gain continuing educational credits for certification renewals.

EEAU Members gain discounts to purchases, and subscriptions to over 200 technical reference books focused on Energy Management, Energy Efficiency, Engineering, Renewables, Clean Energy and Sustainability

Members receive e-newsletters from EEAU to keep them up-to-date on the latest news and developments across the industry. Division members, who work, or operate, or are just interested in a specific field, receive additional, focused newsletters and journals.

EEAU awards recognize individuals, companies, and organizations’ vital work to create a more sustainable energy future. EEAU members can spotlight success in energy efficiency or sustainable development by nominating their colleagues, companies, or projects for an Award.

EEAU partners with leading media outlets to offer free or subsidized access to publications and magazines. We select publications for specific editorial content and relevancy in today’s energy marketplace.
